Archer Western Powers Ahead on the Expansion of Arcadia Lake Water Treatment Plant

EDMOND, OK — Archer Western Construction is making progress on the expansion of the Arcadia Lake Water Treatment Plant. The City of Edmond reports approximately 70 percent of the underground concrete has been placed for the new high lift pump station that will pump treated water to the city residents and businesses.

The granular activated carbon (GAC) filter building slab pours are being completed and the walls are being formed. The GAC filters will reduce the potential for disinfection byproducts when chlorine is added to the water.

Both of the 4 million gallon clearwell tank concrete floors, interior baffle walls, exterior walls, and dome are placed, with work continuing to work on the exterior concrete coating. The recycle pump station steel piles have been driven for structural support, and crews are excavating the lower wetwell section to start placing structural concrete in the next couple of months.

Established in 1983, Archer Western maintains a central corporate office in Atlanta, Georgia, and serves a diverse client base across seven regional offices. The company has experience working on a wide range of projects in the building, transportation, and water sectors. Archer Western is an open-shop contractor that primarily operates in the southern and western regions of the United States.
