HOUSTON, TX — Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) announces the hiring of Karter Ford, EIT, as part of the company's Hiring Our Heroes fellowship program. Ford, a U.S. Army veteran, joined LAN as a Mechanical Engineer in Training.

“Ford spent three months training with the mechanical team before military discharge and has already made a significant impact within the mechanical team," said Kristie Tiller, Senior Associate and Director of Mechanical Engineering at LAN. "At LAN, we believe in the importance of providing opportunities to our veterans, who have sacrificed so much for our country. His quick learning and hard work have already proven him to be a valuable asset."

Ford brings over four years of extensive experience in horizontal construction, project management, data analysis, and mechanical system troubleshooting. His military career includes roles as a Team Leader and Horizontal Construction Engineer at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. His areas of expertise include project management, problem-solving, design, process improvement, and personnel management.

“The training I received at LAN was phenomenal," Ford said. "It exposed me not only to mechanical design for facilities, but the different software needed to conduct the design process as a whole. The 'Hiring Our Heroes' program is a testament to LAN's commitment to supporting veterans. I feel proud to be a part of this company."
