Water for Texas 2025 Conference to Confront Water Supply, Flood, and Other Water Issues Impacting State

AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) will host its biennial Water for Texas conference January 27-29, 2025, in Austin at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center to consider water issues impacting the state. Registration for the conference is now open.

While water supply and flood are currently at the forefront of most water conversations, Texas’ water challenges are as diverse as its geography. Experts from across the country will convene for general sessions and breakout panels within four tracks:

  • Water Supply and Flood Planning: Navigating a Resilient Tomorrow
  • Science, Technology, and Data: Revolutionizing Water Management and Collaboration
  • Business of Water: Integrating Industry Insights
  • Innovation and Legacy: Embracing New Solutions

Attendees will hear from Texas Demographer Lloyd Potter, Ph.D., about the rapid growth in Texas and the importance of continued investment in water infrastructure to accommodate the booming population. Filmmakers Ben Masters and Jay Kleberg will participate in a panel during the keynote luncheon to discuss how art, film, and storytelling can resonate with audiences and influence water awareness and conservation. Additionally, members of the legislature and water leaders from a variety of Texas organizations will discuss key water policy issues of the upcoming 89th Legislative Session.

Attendees can earn continuing education credits, as well. Previous Water for Texas conferences featured credits approved by the Texas Floodplain Management Association, the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, and the State Bar of Texas.

An early registration rate of $375 for industry attendees and $275 for government/nonprofit attendees is available online through October 3, after which the registration fees will increase. A student rate is also available.
